making mandoo



making mandoo
i rustled up some slave labor to help out in the dumpling factory. we made three kinds: traditional korean pork & beef, tofu, and my random concoction of shrimp & chives. we also tried to make vietnamese rice paper-wrapped rolls but damn, those rice paper sheets are slippery!

dom and jonna joined us for a korean new year's dinner. i failed to find the right rice to make coconut sticky rice for dessert so we cheated and bought a few portions of black sticky rice from the thai place around the corner. elliot busted out his famed mango-peeling skills, and cindy made a delicious coconut sauce to go with them.

happy new year! it's the Year of the Pig, and we definitely started the lunar new year off oinking, and with pot bellies.

happy new year ! im going with 'year of the wild boar', which sounds slightly more romantic. and i guess ill have me a little wild boar round may !thats some impressive mango peeling.
