prsut, crni rizot and leonard the lobster

i shouldn't have been so surprised by how fresh & delicious the food in dalmatia was - it is a place drenched in sun, with olive groves everywhere and fishermen pulling in nets every morning to haul in the night's catch. besides the octopus salad in supetar, we ate well on brac, including:
  • a dalmatian platter with prsut (prosciutto), the famous pag cheese, capers, green and black olives and sardines
  • a spaghetti napoletana made from perfectly ripe tomatoes and homemade noodles at bruno's restaurant
  • a black risotto - crni rizot - that painted my tongue and lips black
  • and for our finale on brac, a freshly caught lobster that we named Leonard, cooked buzara-style. delicious!

leonard, before

and leonard, after. burp.
