one in a series of multi-course meals...

there is no such thing as a three-course meal when we come to korea.

for mom's birthday, we went for a nouveau chinese meal that entailed 11 courses, including my favorite - tender, deep-fried silver cod in a spicy sauce - and a couple fusion dishes todd nicknamed "panko pizza" and "prawn parfait."

the next day, auntie myung-ja took us for a traditional hanshik lunch at a restaurant called chiri-san in insa-dong. as you can see above, every inch of the table was covered with something tasty.

and the day after that, we had another 11-course meal - sushi in cheongdam-dong this time - for lunch. and then we waddled home.

burp.
