delhi eats: saravana bhawan

my colleague took me for dosas at saravana bhawan at connaught circus - the one in delhi, not the one in london where tony blair lives. we wandered past vendors peddling snacks and fixing shoes, crumbling bungalows from the old british quarter, and a huge lot cleared to make way for a parking garage.
i randomly picked "kara dosa" from the menu, and a fresh lime juice "sweet." the lime juice came pulped in a glass, the soda in a bottle separately, with a bowl of sugar syrup to sweeten it. the dosa, a crepe made from lentils and rice, came folded in a triangle, and stuffed with a spicy chutney, on a white tray with built-in bowls filled with a rainbow array chutneys.
new yorkers, there's a branch in curry hill at lexington and 26th; londoners, there's one in .

I've eaten in the NY Branch several times. It's definitely good and deceptively filling. The waiters there offer no help on how to eat the thali, though. I always just spoon stuff out from each little bowl.
