golden birthdays come only once a lifetime, and for it to coincide with turning 30 - a true milestone - warrants a PARTY. so we had one for mohammed, the golden boy with the al-Qaida beard, with a birthday potluck:
- Chetan brought hummous, babaganoush and pita, which i sprinkled with zaatar and olive oil
- Kamala brought a beautiful feta salad and fluffy Turkish bread
- Bonnie picked up salad from Ottolenghi: roasted squash, marinated beets & green beans
- I cooked a lamb tagine with olives and preserved lemons, as well as a couscous salad with broad beans, peas & artichoke hearts.
- And Sosen & Amr brought the most luscious, delicious chocolate cake.
