renovations of st. pancras station and its beautiful gothic facade are finally done, the soaring "barlow shed" now painted a pale sky blue. after a session of ice skating at the 02 - which in fact was more like "dodge the little kiddies" - we celebrated our gold-medal efforts with veuve cliquot at the new champagne bar, allegedly "europe's longest." the tables sit right next to the eurostar tracks for prime people-watching, with a heat switch beneath to keep the pins toasty.
only 2 hours and 15 minutes from the station just 'round the corner - i could practically commute to paris. we like to think of islington as the 50th arrondissement. chin-chin!
