i love korean food. love it. except this: sauteed silkworm pupae. DO NOT LOVE. there is no assault worse to the senses than the stench of this wafting toward you from a big brown vat. you don't see it much these days in seoul, but i caught a whiff - yech! - during our day trip to nami island.
check out this hilarious blog about 번데기. if eating beondaegi is a true test of being korean, then i will gladly take an F.
i bet michael would try it, though! ml, next time instead of little tubes of gochujang, i'm bringing you a can of silkworm to snack on. bon appetit!
